I ordered a tuner from Elgato.com. They just came out with one that supports all formats (NTSC, ATSC, & QAM) and had a deal going during Macworld. All I have to do is hook up my Time Warner cable and I will have like 8 HD channels. Still not all the HD channels, just the basics, but better than nothing. They record to MPEG so editing and conversion is easy. Eventhough I have a HD tuner (ATSC) with my current computer, it's not beefy enough to handle the signal. Even HD trailers from apple.com have trouble running. (Athlon 64, 3200 , 2GB Ram, ATI X800XL 256MB, etc) It’s not frontrow. I ordered a tuner from Elgato.com. And since Amazon is offering more and more household items like paper towels and dry goods.. I've been thinking about doing this to cut down on grocery shopping.
