There’s an article linked from Drudge about Americans immigrating to Canada in response to Bush’s re-election. You can read the article here .
The writer says that the people are “fed up with a country they see drifting persistently to the right and abandoning the principles of tolerance, compassion and peaceful idealism they felt once defined the nation.” I got news for you, it’s quite the contrary. Sure we have a right wing President in the White House, no one is disputing that. But if you’re judging the whole country from just one man, you’re way off your rocker. I mean, maybe Bill Clinton was a decent representation of the American people, but not George W Bush. Besides, since when was the USA tolerant, compassionate, or peaceful to begin with? If anything the US is far too tolerant! The decay of our country is not because of George W Bush, it’s because of moral relativism- the idea that there are no absolutes. It’s the people that believe in moral relativism that have such a problem with the President. They see a man driven by absolutes, conviction, freedom, and liberty for all (not just the USA).
You know what? If you really want to head to Canada, I say go for it. I definitely won’t stand in your way. But if you want back across the border in 4-8 years, to the land of the free- home of the brave, think again.
Republicans.. hehe, so high strung.
hmm.. nah canada’s too cold.. and I want to be here when the 4 years or less are up and most everybody is saying “Thank god thats over”
Hey don’t worry about it..
if you can’t stand the current president and leave the country because of it.. i would say that you are a little radical. if kerry had won, I wouldn’t even think about leaving.
