albums not dead

There’s this article that I read about a year ago about the changing music scene. Yesterday I watched High Fidelity and was reminded of the evolution of digital music and specifically that article I had read some time ago. Thanks to the power of the internet, I found it and here’s the link:

Downloading squeezes the art out of the album

It’s something worth some thought, I think… Will we stop buying albums because of services like Itunes? I personally don’t think so. I don’t tend to buy that many single songs, my investment is in the artist, not the song. What do you think?

    I buy the album of an artist that I really like. If I really like the song, I’ll just get it from iTunes. As long as there are only 4 or 5 songs I like on an album, it is still cheaper to buy those songs as apposed to the album.. unless I really like the artist.. but then I would buy the album anyway.

    I am cheap.
