protests

I’ve often thought myself that protesters must be just severely uneducated about politics to be doing what they do. I’m sure there are some out there who feel like they are genuinely doing what they should be and have some idea of why, but I’d guess they are fewer than we think. I caught an article that talked about just such things (Oxy-Moronic March). Here’s a little excerpt:

“Typically clueless was Bryan Martin, 25, a New Yorker carrying a “No Draft, No Way” placard. Following is a verbatim transcript of this columnists’ conversation with Mr. Martin:”

Q: “What are you protesting?”
A: “I’m protesting a war we shouldn’t be fighting.”
Q: “Are you protesting the Democrats with that sign?”
A: “No, the Republicans.”
Q: “Are you aware that the Democrats are the only ones proposing a reinstatement of the draft?”
A: “Wasn’t that tongue-in-cheek?”
Q: “No.”
A: “Oh. Well, they just gave me the sign at 14th Street (the demonstration’s starting point). I don’t really know what it means.”

blog problems

if youve visited the site and realized that there are some problems, namely with the comments or archive pages, you’re not alone. There are a few serious kinks in the system that i’m working to fix. i like the new page layout so i’m probably going to switch my whole page over to this thing once i get some of the glitches figured out. be patient but hopefully it’ll be up within the next week.

I put this together over the past couple days. I was looking for a visual related to being a fool and the only universal thing i could find was a jester, so i tried to make that idea as trendy looking as possible. how did i do?

cameraphones

Ok, I’ll admit it…I just don’t get what all of the fuss is about when it comes to camera phones. Maybe somewhere down the road the technology will advance to the point where it’s useful but for now I don’t need a phone that can take pictures the size of my thumb and send them to whomever. Jen has a camera phone, she didn’t get it because of that feature and rarely uses it. I want a phone that makes calls clearly and quickly. Give it an easily accessable address book and maybe voice dialing and that’s it. If I want a camera I’ll buy a camera!!! You can buy a 3mp camera for 100 bucks these days…most of the cameraphones capture images that aren’t even 1mp, but i guess it’s not all about quality, or that’s what i hear? maybe if they used it for video conferencing or something, that might be useful otherwise phone companies, save the money and the lenses and just give me a PHONE!
